Monthly tuition is due by the 1st of the month. You will receive a monthly invoice reflecting the tuition price for the next month at the end of the current month. The amount will indicate any book costs, recital fees, etc. Please have payment into the studio by the 1st. A late payment fee of $10 will be applied if payment it received past the 10th.
Payments can by made via Venmo and Paypal
Venmo: @Leana-Haupt
PayPal: leanahaupt
If there are any financial difficulties in a given month, please let me know ahead of time so that I can make arrangements for the late payment.
Missed Lessons
Your child's lesson time is reserved in the studio specifically for them. Please make every effort to schedule other appointments and activities around the lesson time.
Lessons missed by the student cannot be credited or rescheduled. Students are responsible for attending their scheduled lesson.
Students will have the opportunity to swap with another student in the studio (the same week as their missed lesson) if they are unable to make their scheduled lesson. Please let me know as soon as possible if you would like to try to swap with another student.
If I need to miss a lesson - first I will try to reschedule the lesson if an agreeable time is available. If a time cannot be found, the lesson will be credited on the next month's invoice.
Practice
Students are to come to lessons fully prepared with all the assignments from the following week thoroughly practiced/studied. A minimum of five days of practice per week is crucial.
All assignments will be recorded in the student’s assignment notebook. It is very important that this assignment notebook be referred to while practicing at home. It lists detailed instructions to assist with each piece/assignment to be completed.
If a student is not able to practice at home, he/she will not get the most out of their lesson.
Zoom Lessons
Zoom lessons are an option if your child needs to have one. Reasons a student (or teacher) may need to have a lesson through Zoom:
- Sickness: Student, teacher or family members (so we do not spread any sickness)
- Bad weather: Ice, Snow, Heavy rain/storms, any weather reason that it's not safe to be on the roads
- Appointments or other situations where you are unable to bring your child into the studio
Having a lesson through zoom can provide a quality lesson for your child. We can sometimes avoid missed lessons using Zoom. It should only be used when needed.
The link to my Zoom account is on the calendar next to your child's lesson time.
Please make sure that you set up the phone or the computer so I can see your child's hands.
The Role of the Parent
Two important lessons to be learned as a piano student are time management and self-discipline. Constant reinforcement from parents is needed because these traits are generally not innate in children. A consistent daily practice routine is necessary from the student in order to reach their full potential and it also helps to build lasting knowledge and confidence in piano playing.
Other information
In order not to disrupt the students, parents are asked to wait outside during the lesson. It is expected that families respectfully consider that this is a home as well as a piano studio. Please limit the use of the home to the music room and the bathroom only. If a student shows up late for their lesson, I will only be able to teach them the remainder of their lesson time in order to honor the other students’ lesson times and our family time.
If you must discontinue lessons for your child, I will need to know by the 15th of the month. After that date you will be charged for the next month.
